Microsoft Unveils A Sleek Gold-Trimmed Nokia Lumia 930, Watch Out iPhone

The Microsoft Windows Nokia Lumia 930 is now available in gold, and it looks like Apple needs to watch it's back. In an apparent attempt to compete with the many colors offered for iPhones, Microsoft has unveiled the new color option unlocked for several carriers in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

The previous color options for the model were silver and all white. The new Nokia Lumia 930 model update is reportedly available in two designs: gold-trimmed with a white back or gold-trimmed with a black back. Both options have been dubbed "glitzy," in recent gadget reviews.

In addition to the new sleek and thin gold-trimmed body of the Nokia Lumia 930, it comes with the same capabilities, according to TNerd. The model is powered by a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor. Its battery life is also impressive, advertised to last up to 3 days without charging. That is the equivalent of 11 hours of 2G talk time and 15 hours of 3G talk time. It also includes 432 hours of standby time and 75 hours of music playback. Compared to the iPhone's battery life, the Nokia Lumia 930 takes the gold.

Another factor setting the 930 apart from competitors is its PureView technology with Zeis optics. The camera on the 930 is all inclusive, with, auto focus, optical image stabilization, aperture of f/2.4 and Dual-LED. Even with all the impressive hardware and engineering, what truly makes the Nokia Lumia 930 a top pick is the software. Microsoft recently posted on its Lumia Conversations blog, boasting about the 930's software package.

"The phones also seamlessly integrate Skype, OneDrive, OneNote and your personal digital assistant, Cortana (available in select countries). The 5-inch high-definition screen on the Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 offers great outdoor readability, making e-book reading or attending your work e-mails a pleasure. The combination of a 20-megapixel PureView camera, four microphones with Dolby Surround sound and the dual LED flash found on Lumia 930 gold makes video-recording child's play."

The Nokia Lumia 930 comes with the Windows Phone 8.1 systems which, according to Microsoft, enhances the users' experience by allowing them to easily multitask via the Windows Phone 8.1 Action Center.

"As well as providing the best of Nokia Lumia, this truly versatile smartphone also delivers the cream of the Microsoft software crop, coming out-of-the-box with Windows 8.1 that brings with it myriad of enhancements, such as Action Center, a refreshed start screen experience and new data and battery sense apps."

As of now, the 930 is available in select locations in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The gold-trimmed Nokia Lumia 930 is not available in the North or South America.
