So far the biggest issue preventing most Android apps from working on Windows 10 Mobile has been the absence of Google Play services.
It has been possible to side-load the Android packages for Google Play Services to Windows 10 Mobile's Android environment, but they have not been functional due to not having sufficient permission.
Now Polish hacker Karov_mm claims to have managed to elevate the permission of the side-loaded files using chmod from adb shell and managed to successfully get Google Play Services, including the Google Play Store, to work directly on the device.
Its not yet clear how functional this hack is, but what is clear is that adding the Android environment to Windows Mobile is not just injecting apps, but also a lot of excitement, into the Windows phone ecosystem.
