Microsoft has had quite a year last year when it came to expanding their horizons deeper into the markets. The company has been one of the most prominent names and market leaders when it comes to the world of software technology. However, the same cannot be said about Microsoft's hardware efforts. For most of 2015, the company had been struggling with their mobile phone division, the Microsoft Mobiles. However, with the launch of the recent Lumia and Surface line of devices in early October, the company did face a major turnaround which helped benefit them in terms of market presence. The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL were among their biggest releases last year. In recent news, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL devices are both getting firmware updates –
Microsoft has started rolling out the firmware update with build number 01078.00027.15506.020xx for the users of their Lumia 950 and 950 XL located in the UK and Ireland. As per reports obtained via NDTV, this update brings various stability and performance improvements. It brings improvements for microSD card support as well as improvements for automatic display brightness settings.
Another major fix which is introduced with this update is the camera problem that used to create noise in images captured in low-light conditions. This issue no longer bothers the users. Another major fix that has been introduced is the introduction of an update which fixes stripes during playback of 4K videos recorded on the phone.
Microsoft has announced that at this point of time there are no updates available for the users of the Microsoft Lumia 550. Bluetooth connectivity has been another highlight of this latest release for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL users, auto-complete for the edge browser has also been updated.
