Microsoft Will Now Share More Details About What's in Windows 10 Updates

That isn't deterring the company from doing the right thing by users.

Or Microsoft might just want a few more testers for Windows Update patches. Or, if you experience a problem, let it know so its Windows 10 Update History becomes a better resource.

The MS16-009 and MS16-011 for Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge respectively should come next because they fix critical vulnerabilities that can be exploited through Web pages. You will probably still not see that list inside the Settings app in Windows 10, though we still have to see if Microsoft will move in that direction.

Can we ever trust Microsoft and its Windows changelogs?

Sure, there's a lot that's new about Windows 10, and there have been a lot of changes introduced with the new OS. It now looks like the company is all set to shut down the Lumia mobile phones business, and the upcoming Lumia 650 is expected to be the final Microsoft Lumia device.

The Windows Insider Fast and Slow rings are pa rt of what Microsoft calls the Development Branch of Windows 10 - versions of the operating system that are still under development and may have serious bugs. In addition, it will also serve as a "historical record of prior release notes".

None of the vulnerabilities have been spotted in the wild, however, they do impact nearly all of Microsoft's product areas including, Windows, Internet Explorer (IE), Edge and Office.

For now though, Microsoft is currently delivering updates to two distinct Windows 10 branches. That means folks who are now running an Insider Preview version of the operating system will have to reinstall Windows in order to get access to it. The second is for educational institutions and businesses, which still haven't downloaded that update.

That Microsoft has made a decision to be more public about what's contained in every Windows 10 Cumulative Update is certainly good news. For the incurably curious, the information available within Update His tory remains pretty generic, though. Test versions of it are already going out to members of the Windows Insider Program.

The new history page doesn't use Microsoft's servicing branch nomenclature. It doesn't provide too much detail but users can click through to Microsoft's Knowledge Base for more information.

If research proves that the virus can be spread through sex, it could complicate efforts to contain infections from the virus.
