Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update Is Almost Ready

Hold the fort, in other words! Microsoft has confirmed that the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update is almost ready for rollout, and work on the mobile OS is nearing completion.

The Windows team will soon finalize things and release this new version to smartphones worldwide.

What the company has not provided, once again, is a release date.

Right now, there is no information as to when this first wave of Redstone, known as the Anniversary Update, will get the greenlight. There were rumors of an August 9 launch, but that date came and went, with no signs of a rollout or anything like that.

Now, the head of the Windows Insider Program, Doan Sarkar, had an update on where things stand:

"Right now, the team is laser-focused on preparing to release the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to Mobile devices and we think we're almost ready. You can help us out by making sure you are running Build 14393.67 (KB3176931) on your phone and sending in feedback on any issues you run into via the Feedback Hub. Our team is determined to make sure we release a high quality build to our customers and your feedback really makes a difference."

So there you have it — Microsoft is laser-focused on this.

Of course, Dona also says that those who want to get this new version right now should enroll in the Insider Program to download build 14393, which is actually the RTM version of the mobile OS that will be soon be released to users.

We are approaching the two-weeks mark since the release of the AU for PCs, so hopefully things on mobile progress in the right direction soon.
