At least one new Surface device in October, not Pro 5

Although nothing is confirmed right now, sources say that the Surface Book 2 will have a sleek design that will make the new device look better than its predecessor.

Another Microsoft Surface Pro 5 rumor which has been running up and down the mill is that of a new and improved Surface Pen which has been reportedly updated with a rechargeable battery that users can charge without a wire when it is attached to the tablet magnetically.

The Surface Pro 5 is one of Microsoft's most anticipated devices.

Much like Surface Integration, Surface Integration Service Device has a lot to do with the features of the device, particularly storage and sleep or hibernate capabilities. The Surface Book 2 may also use NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 980M. This is because the device is said to pack the latest that today's technology has to offer. Since Intel has only released the chips to manufacturers recently, a 2016 release date for the Surface Pro 5 is quite unlikely.

MacBook Pro 2016 will be thinner and lighter but leak specifications suggest that Surface Book 2 will undergo major redesign making it slimmer and sexier than Surface Book 1.

Thus, many Microsoft fans are speculating that the tech giant might be gearing up to release a follow-up to the powerful Surface Book before the year ends.

Neither Apple nor Microsoft has officially announced the release dates of MacBook Pro 2016 and Surface Book 2. While it is based on mere speculation at this time, all the signs are there that the fifth generation model will be released next year, but for all you Surface lovers out there, do not despair, as there will be at least one new Surface device in October – the question is, what will it be?

Just like the Surface Book 2, the mystery device for 2016 might be the Surface Phone, the company's rumored handset and the official successor to the company's failed Microsoft Lumia line.
