#SurfacePhone #Microsoft – Microsoft Might Not Launch the Surface Phone Until 2018 : Microsoft will be holding a new event on October 26 to unveil the Surface All-in-One PC, but it's no secret that there's still hope that Redmond could also take the wraps off the eagerly anticipated Surface Phone.
Unfortunately, there are signs that Microsoft isn't planning to unveil the Surface Phone this month and information coming from people close to the matter point to even more disappointing news for Windows Phone fans who are hoping to get a flagship device as soon as possible.
It might seem like the plan is now to introduce the Surface Phone in late 2017 or even early 2018, as Microsoft is still working on it and some features might not be ready before these dates.
"Surface Phone, the one and only flagship"
Previously, people with knowledge of the matter revealed that Microsoft pushed back the release of the Surface Phone from October 2016 (this month) to early 2017 in order to align it with the introduction of the Redstone 2 update for Windows 10.
But now it seems like this plan has changed too and the unveiling will only take place in a year or even later. The Surface Phone is considered to be Microsoft's next and only Windows 10 Mobile device.
As the firm is planning to discontinue the Lumia brand and only support the operating system, while focusing all efforts on just a single device. Information on its features aren't available just yet, but it's believed that the Surface Phone would come with the latest in terms of hardware, as Microsoft wants it to be a flagship in all regards.
Since the release won't take place sooner than late 2017 or even early 2018, it's clearly too early to discuss hardware specifications, as a lot could change in the meantime until the device goes live.
