Many analysts believe that Panos Panay and his Surface team are working on a smartphone to replace the Lumia line, and that it'll come in an all-metal body – just like the Surface hybrid laptop family.

The new Surface smartphone coming in three variants will have variable features like 3GB RAM in the lowest priced model while the top model is likely to have 8 GB RAM, which combined with the rumored 512 GB of the on-board storage.
