Windows Store in Brazil now charges in R$, not $

Brazil is one of Windows Phone's biggest markets, and Microsoft has been able to address the low-cost market there very effectively by having manufacturing facilities in the country, thereby avoiding large import duties on smartphones.

Many apps in the Windows Store were still however priced in $ and then converted, which led to those apps being taxed at a much higher rate than otherwise.

We have however heard today that Microsoft has switched to native pricing in the Windows Store in Brazil, meaning apps are now priced in BRL rather than USD, and are consequently significantly cheaper.
