"No plans for a second wave" of Windows 10 Mobile

On that occasion, the company released the list of handsets that are going to be receiving the update, but did not at the time clarify whether the list was final or not.

In Twitter for Windows 10 Mobile, we've added features that make content discovery, as well as both public and private sharing, more seamless than ever.

Windows 10 Mobile was released to several Windows Phone 8.1 devices yesterday.

These aren't the only changes that have been introduced in the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14291. Moving navigation to the bottom of the phone is just one of the ways Insider feedback has helped to improve the experience for all Windows 10 Map app users.

Second, all critical patches will be addressed for Skylake systems until the end of mainstream support for the operating system, which is January 2020 for Windows 7, and January 2023 for Windows 8.1. As Neowin notes, that's not the case and what the company announced this week is the final list of devices that will run the new OS. The update was to come in two waves, at first for the high-end devices and then to the smaller devices with lesser specs. If you have a third party device, such as an LG Lancet, Yezz Billy 4.7, or HTC One M8, things could still change for you. It is being said that Microsoft made a decision to withhold the update for those devices as they were not performing well with Windows 10 Mobile.

Below are 20 Lumia devices that are launched under Nokia and Microsoft which can not be updated to Windows 10 Mobile OS.

While Microsoft Edge may now have extensions, it's still very early days and it's likely you'll find that most of your favorites are yet to make an appearance.

The bigger issue here is not that these phones have been bypassed, it's that Microsoft has broken its promise.

It's exciting to see that the new Windows 10 preview build comes with three extensions for the Edge browser: Microsoft Translator - which boasts more than 50 languages in its portfolio - Mouse Gestures, and the Reddit Enhancement Suite.

If this all sounds familiar, that's because this is not the first time Microsoft has splintered its base. But due to the crashes and bugs reported on some Windows Phone devices, the company chose to not give them the update. This clears up the odd wording previously announced, and means that if you have to continue running Windows 7 on the approved machines after July 2018, you won't be left vulnerable to a security issue that is already patches.
