Microsoft Posts Roadmap of Upcoming Windows 10 Features

The company had earlier expected that with the Windows 10 Mobile devices doing well, the demand for the Windows Phone would eventually surge again.

The most unexpected of those new features is the Windows Subsystem for Linux, which allows you to run a number of Linux binaries like the Bash shell (and as Terry Myerson noted during the announcement, we can expect "more coming soon").

With the release of the new Windows 10 and the new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, Microsoft has shown that it is possible to have a phone that works like a PC blurring the line between conventional PC and smart devices.

At the beginning of April, Microsoft delivered a pretty big feature update for the Microsoft Health app and the Microsoft Band. This is actually unusual, as Deezer is a popular service, and nearly every newer Windows 10 app now comes with support for Microsoft's assistant. Waiting a full year and letting another generation of iPhones and Android devices enter the market co uld further reduce that share while rendering the notion of owning a Windows 10 Mobile device obsolete. Microsoft still charges businesses for Windows and related software, and uses complicated licensing schemes to figure out how much to charge them. Microsoft is also working on a new security service probably not included for free with Windows 10 but as some kind of an upgrade. We'll have more on how that system works in a forthcoming article shortly. Even if you're a Windows 10 Mobile user, why bother installing the Windows 10 desktop app if you know you're still going to have to launch its equivalent on your phone?

Windows 10 Redstone Mobile Lock Screen to Feature A Camera Icon

Microsoft has noticed over the years that the Windows Phone devices have not been selling as well in the markets as the company had expected them to. As per the publication, Build 14316 features an improved Cortana, which allows cross-device support; Edge browser support, which allows new plug-ins; and the enhanced Action Center, which allows users customize application notifications.

What you think about this Picture in Picture concept? Device Guard uses hardware-based isolation and virtualization to protect itself and the Windows system core from vulnerability and zero-day exploits. These include Enterprise Data Protection, Multifactor authentication for apps and websites and Microsoft Edge Extensions. In the past, it would depend on the light and the camera woul d make a decision made on that. Also, given that the Surface brand quite strong, why risk tarnishing it with yet another Windows Phone failure? But, 53% plan to invest in Windows 10 sometime this year.
