So the question that almost everyone asked has been solved. The question 'when Microsoft's Surface Phone will be launched' has a definite answer now.

Latest reports suggest that Redmond based tech giant is all set to launch its marquee smartphone in the market to showcase its prowess with its technology and operating system next year. Reports suggest that the handset(s) will be launched in the market in April.

Media reports suggest that tech giant's Surface Phone will be arriving almost the same time when Microsoft will also be releasing its Windows 10 Redstone 2.

A report in the leading tech blog Windows Central says that with Microsoft putting its complete focus around Windows 10 OS for now, the handset will be delayed. Microsoft would have loved to launch the Surface Phone much earlier, nonetheless it wants to give its users the best experience possible.

In the meantime a report in TechRadar says that Microsoft is working hard to turn smartphone into desktop with its impeccable Office software and its Continuum feature.

"Quite how Microsoft plans to make it the most secure phone is more questionable. It's got a lot of competition in that area from BlackBerry, Samsung KNOX and niche devices like the Turing Phone, but it makes sense for Microsoft to change its focus, given that it's making little headway against Android and iOS in the mainstream consumer market…If you're not interested in productivity or security the Surface Phone could still tempt you though, as previous rumors suggest it might come in three different versions- a consumer model, a business one and a premium edition", says the report.

Another report in the Bitbag says, "The key feature of Surface Phone will be its Continuum that'll differentiate the device from the other major players in the market. The feature, which already comes in devices like Lumia 950 and 950 XL among other devices, allows you to connect the mobile to larger displays with OS scaling appropriately to simulate a PC like experience. Microsoft's strategy with its mobile device is to make the Surface Phone a real alternative to a computer, specifically targeting business users to buy a single device instead of two".
