Windows 10 Beginner: Change the Time & Date On Your PC

Microsoft also noted some other features not in public preview that most likely will not be ready by July. Last Wednesday, the company released a beta build of its operating system that finally had support for the new functionality.

Microsoft has also increased the minimum system requirements for Windows 10 Mobile and now all devices must have at least 1 GB of RAM. While we are still looking forward to the promised Redstone preview (14316), Insiders on the Release Preview ring can now install Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.218 on their devices. This is similar to the layout of the Live Tiles. Many sections like Cortana, Notifications as well as Edge got a new look with useful features.

There are many smaller improvements, the most interesting of which is making Cortana reminders accessible to the share framework for UWP (Universal Windows) apps.

Microsoft previously said that the DOD plans to upgrade those 4 million PCs to Windows 10 by the end of January 2017. One-click expansion is available for those moments when the same app pellets you with notifications.

Windows 10 Mobile's Action Centre is receiving a major update in terms of functionality and aesthetics.

The company has been distancing itself from the mobile phone division, and it was obvious as the company did not make any announcement about the Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile devices during the Build 2016 event.

Additionally, Microsoft says that a new Messaging Everywhere Preview is coming soon.

New Navigation bar settings page. The only devices that are exempt from this rule are those that use the Windows 10 IoT Core, such as Raspberry Pi - but it is available there, too. Cortana can also be used to send an e-mail, check schedule or simply set an alarm. The update will also include an upgraded Windows Store app marketplace with thousands of apps with bulk purchasing and deployment options.

Though most reports focused on Bash itself, what Microsoft and Canonical actually delivered was a complete Linux userland. That doesn't mean they won't work, just that you may have to hack things together on your own to make it happen.
