See Windows 95 running on the Xbox One, because why not?

The name should be no stranger to Windows Phone enthusiasts, or even just general Windows Phone users of years past: SongArc - from the titular is one of the highest-quality games for the platform, with consistent support from the developers, a shining beacon in the proverbial Windows Phone gaming desert (comparatively). At least, not until recently.

Windows 95 really is the swiss army knife of operating systems. In the past, you would have had to modify your console (and thus, void the warranty) to pull this off.

While Xbox One developers have hit a veritable home run with its fan base by incorporating backward compatibility as a feature for the current generation console, one gamer has chose to give the concept a completely new meaning by getting the platform to run the old school computer operating system Windows 95.

What Microsoft probably expect to eventuate were the ways in which people would use their Xbox One. So, theoretically, one of these apps that works on your desktop (like DOSBox) shouldn't have any issue running on your Xbox One console, assuming you have the means to get it on there and actually load it. However, emulator programs and virtual machines-if allowed-could certainly open up all sorts of creative uses for the Xbox One. Despite this, it was still capable of running not only Windows 95 itself, but also some games for it. Duke Nukem 3D still managed to run on the console, albeit at an incredibly low framerate.

When Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One, it was branded as a console which is created to run the latest games the world has to offer without suffering in performance.
