Viber for Windows Allows You To Call Other Users For Free

Viber is WhatsApp's biggest rival, although it has more than a third of the total number of active users. Even so, its developers are offering the best features – some of them are not available in WhatsApp yet, but it has the same sign in method – it depends on a mobile device, as the account is registered using a phone number.

So, Viber can be installed on smartphones and tablets running on Android, iOS and Windows Phone, but it offers a desktop version for Windows, Mac and Linux, as well. WhatsApp followed in its footsteps and just released a version for PC, but in order o log into their accounts, users of both applications need to scan a QR code on their monitors, only that on Viber, the QR scanner is auto-opened on the smartphone, while on WhatsApp, users must go to Settings.

After Viber starts on Windows, all Conversations, Contacts, and Public Chats are synced and can be accessed from the View menu in the left side of the window. They represent the first three buttons, while the fourth one is the Dialer. When writing a message in Conversations, users will be directed to the purple button with the arrow to send it, and if they want to attach files, they will click the paperclip button on the left side of Type this message button. Photos will be sent by simply right-clicking on an empty area.

Users can insert Emoticons and animated Sticker Packs in their conversations, by clicking on them. To make a voice call to another Viber user can be done by clicking the phone button, while the second button is for placing a video call. Also, more information about the other person can be obtained by clicking the third button. Moreover, the application has a Viber Out service for calling landline and mobile numbers. But users must buy credit to place a Viber Out call. As for conversations, they can be deleted and there's a button to do this.
