AT&T Lumia 640, Verizon Lumia 735 now receiving Windows 10 Mobile updates

Some features are not yet implemented (on Windows 10 Mobile), including reply from PC and phone notification muting.

Microsoft announced today that carrier-locked versions of eligible Windows phones are finally receiving the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade, about two and a half months after it was available for unlocked phones.

While some might look at the deal offered by Microsoft as an opportunity to try out the new range of Windows 10 powered device, there are others that think that the promotion has nothing to do with their decision to get the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL. One Reg reader grabbed the below screenshot from a relative's PC on Windows Vista. Cortana is also getting an exclusive Windows 10 Mobile feature with this latest build, allowing you to simply say "send this photo to my PC" and have a photo immediately delivered to your PC. Just saying "OK Cortana, send this photo to my PC" will do the trick.

Recently, Microsoft's policy had been to throw up a dialogue box asking you whether you wanted to install Windows 10.

Also new is a different icon to show that Cortana is listening to you. It's similar to the way movies often depict a computer hard at work decrypting a password.

On top of the new features, this build adds a ton of fixes for unusual quirks like incorrect battery percentage estimates, misbehaving Glance screen clocks, and improvements to Cortana's reliability-let's hope that means the digital personal assistant is becoming less crash happy. "What we usually recommend is to keep the current Windows version and we'll update you once the Windows 10 have no more issues on any Samsung laptops and computers or even monitors", the email continued.
