That's why it's good to see AT&T updating its 1520 to Windows 10 Mobile, breathing some new life into this ginormous Lumia for anyone that's still rocking one.
As I first reported on Twitter, hell has frozen over: Verizon is delivering the shipping (non-Insider) version of Windows 10 Mobile to its two-year-old orphan, the Lumia Icon.
To move your Lumia 1520 from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 Mobile, you'll need to grab the Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor app from the Windows Store.
"Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a software update for your device". "This software update has been tested to help optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches".
The update comes out as a celebration for the users of these older devices.
The Windows 10 Mobile OS update came out for the users of many older Nokia Lumia phones such as Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, and the MCJ Madosma Q501 devices.
Now, as Windows Central is reporting, the update appears to be rolling out for real, brining Lumia Icons in the carrier's network to Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.107. With the Windows 10 Mobile OS then coming out, things were starting to get even more interesting, as Microsoft took a major leap forward towards the future of the world of technology. Verizon should press the release button in just a few hours, so make sure you charge your Icons to be among the first getting the update.
