Microsoft is testing out a new feature that will make clean installing Windows 10 a lot easier.
The new app was released alongside build 14367 for both desktop and mobile devices.
A whopping 23 languages are being added, including Indonesian, Malay and, for the first time, African tongues like Swahili and Zulu. You'll have to reinstall all of this yourself if you need it post-installation. Finally, Start Fresh removes all software and apps that don't come with a standard Windows 10 build-including the full Office suite. The tool actually hit the Internet on Wednesday after leak-a-holic Walking Cat found the download link for the tool on Microsoft's download site. Using the Windows key + F combination opens up the Feedback Hub and attaches a screenshot of whatever's on your display at the time, replacing the former shortcut of Windows key + Shift +?, which will now be discontinued. And as for mobile users, the key combination remains same - Vol down + Power. Microsoft said it has been built as a response to requests from users.
"We've heard from many of you that are attempting to perform a clean installation of Windows that it can sometimes be hard to get started".
A new tool-available to Windows Insiders at the moment-will allow users to get rid of bloatware manufacturers tend to put in new PCs and install Windows 10 fresh.
There's also a Windows Store Update which will prevent the Store from crashing.
This also brings battery and lock-screen improvements to the mobile. They remind users that trying out an early version of a tool is always risky so they recommend Insiders not to use the tool on their primary PC.
The story behind the story: Microsoft recently declared June to be a "Bug Bash" month and is pushing insiders to complete tasks (known as quests) in order to test certain parts of the operating system. This gives the internal team a chance to make teams, find bugs and bond over the experience. And the users are requested to look into that product feature and provide feedback on the same.
The list of changes is huge and if you're interested, you can peruse through them here.
