The latest update for WhatsApp's Windows Phone app brings a major fix for the bug which affected multi-select feature and rendered the chat screen unresponsive and inactive. The screen got totally unresponsive and did not function until the back button was pushed to go back to the WhatsApp home.
This bug was introduced with version 2.16.106 of the app, which introduced quote support for replies, a slightly redesigned user interface, and an improved image picker that made accessing and attaching images within the app easier.
Version 2.16.108 resolves the issue with the same set of features that were introduced last night. Apart from the major bug fix, this update doesn't seem to include any other new features or UI improvements. The user interface has the same tweaks, such as moving the send message button to the right of the text box, rather than right above the Start button.
Last month, WhatsApp introduced its desktop client for Windows and Mac. The application offers all the same features and shortcuts, which we have already seen on WhatsApp for Web. However, to use it, you'll have to sync your mobile account. If you are looking for a bespoke WhatsApp desktop account, you will be left waiting.
As for the Windows Phone app, if you're still experiencing issues, you can get the fix from Windows Phone Store.
