Google blocking Windows 10 Mobile owners from using Gmail?

It would seem as if Google is yet again snubbing those who prefer to use Windows on mobile platforms. Apparently, the search giant is blocking Windows 10 Mobile users from adding their Gmail accounts to the Outlook app.

Whenever users attempt to login, they are greeted with an error message that says their web browser is not supported anymore, and that they must switch to Internet Explorer. Considering that Microsoft Edge is newer than Internet Explorer and follows more web standards, we do not see why this needs to happen.

Interestingly enough, this problem does not happen when on a desktop and using Microsoft Edge, so as of now, the issue is just an isolated incident only prone to Windows 10 Mobile. We're not sure if those running Windows Phone 8.x are going through similar plagues.

What is happening here shouldn't come as much of a surprise since Google has been snubbing Windows Phone users ever since the platform was released. The company only has a single app in the store and it's not that useful. There's no official YouTube app, and Google gave Microsoft a hard time when the software giant attempted to create its own.

One could argue that fans of the Windows 10 platform are not in need of Gmail, but countless regular users use the platform as well, and many will be wanting access to their Gmail account for multiple reasons.

For those having problems using Gmail, it's possible to have your cake and eat it too: download the EasyMail for Gmail app from the Windows Store. Furthermore, if you're interested in switching to Outlook from Gmail, Microsoft has provided some instructions to get you started.
