Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has witnessed its smartphone market crash and burn after the spectacular failure of its Nokia inspired Windows Phone. However, major sites are speculating that the software giant could be set to make a strong return to the smartphone world, with the announcement of its highly rumored Surface Phone during the upcoming IFA 2016 event. It is expected that Microsoft will incorporate top-of-the-line specs with an upgraded operating system to ensure that its next generation smartphone does not experience a similar fate as its poor-performing Windows Phone models. Here is a quick review regarding the expected specifications of the upcoming smartphone device.

According to popular reports, Microsoft is highly tipped to release three different versions of Surface Phone: an entry level model with 4GB RAM and 32GB worth of internal memory, a mid-range model with 6GB RAM and 128GB worth of internal memory and a high-end model with a whopping 500GB worth of internal memory. All three versions of the Surface Phone are expected to run on the latest Windows 10 Redstone operating system which would assist in improving the performance and efficiency of the smartphone devices.

Also, all versions would be powered by the latest Snapdragon 830 processing chipset which would significantly boost the speed of the upcoming smartphone devices. It is expected that Microsoft would incorporate a similar 8MP front camera and a 12MP back camera on its upcoming models of Surface Phone. Furthermore, reliable tech analysts have predicted that the upcoming smartphone device will feature an impressive 5.5-inch AMOLED display which will represent a significant upgrade over the display offered on the previous generation Windows Phone devices.
