If you've got an unlocked HTC 10, you'll soon receive a Nougat dessert to follow up your Thanksgiving meal today.
HTC USA today announced that it's finished testing the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the unlocked version of the HTC 10. The update is slated to begin rolling out Friday, November 25.
HTC also updated us on the status of Android 7.0 for the carrier versions of the HTC 10 and HTC One M9. According to HTC, those updates will begin rolling out in early 2017. Updates for carrier variants of phones typically take longer than they do for unlocked phones because the carriers put the updates through extra testing.
When HTC launched the 10, it touted that it "streamlined" its new device by reducing the number of duplicate preloaded apps and bloatware. This also helps HTC to push updates out faster since there's less for the company to customize from Google's flavor of Android. Now owners of the unlocked HTC 10 are reaping this benefit, because they'll get their helping of Android 7.0 Nougat starting tomorrow, before most other Android devices on the market.
