Microsoft drops the Lumia 950 XL by $200 for a limited time

#Microsoft #Lumia950XL – Microsoft drops the Lumia 950 XL by $200 for a limited time : In recent times, Microsoft has distanced itself from the Lumia brand it acquired when it purchased Nokia's devices and services division back in 2013. A move that was poised to rejuvenate Redmond's flagging mobile department, things haven't gone exactly to plan.

Having abandoned its Lumia Highlights app and outsourced its customer care unit, Lumia devices have been dropping in price on a regular basis. Right now, the Lumia 950 XL is available for $299, a solid saving on the usual $499 retail price.

The Lumia 950 XL comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3 gigs of RAM and a 20-megapixel main camera. There's also a 5.7-inch 1440 x 2560 quad-HD display, though whilst it's sharp and provides reasonably accurate color reproduction, the 297 nits of maximum brightness means its a tad on the dim side.

There's also a 3340 mAh battery which is replaceable, and owners can also bump the 32 GB on-board storage courtesy of the microSD expansion slot.

Microsoft has the 950 XL available in black or white but unfortunately, the inventory of the free Display Dock appears to have been exhausted. The smaller Lumia 950 has also been subject to a price cut of $150 but again, it's no longer in stock..

Needless to say, this may be one of the last opportunities you'll have to grab the Lumia 950 XL from Microsoft so if you wish to get involved, move quickly by hitting the source link below. The offer is good until December 24th and if you wish to have it by Christmas, you'll need to have your order in by the 20th. Source: phonearena
