Windows smartphones are going through a tough phase as most of the companies are stopping app support for windows devices and concentrating more on Android and iOS platforms.
Now it has been revealed that numerous Windows phone users are complaining about the official Amazon app disappearing from the official store, which got users thinking whether the e-Commerce giant is discontinuing support for Windows devices, reported Softpedia.
However, according to a report on German Website WindowsUnited, the app disappearance issue is sporadic and hasn't vanished completely. The website said that the issue is uncanny; the app is still available for download but cannot be traced while searching for it on the store.
Currently, the Amazon app can be downloaded by users via a direct link, which requires users to directly open the product page in the store directly and not searching for it on the Windows store.
Users clueless
As the problem continues to bug Windows phone users, there is no information regarding why Amazon decided to hide its app on the Windows Store. Maybe the company is looking forward to release an upgraded Windows 10 version or totally stopping support for Windows phone users.
With that said, Amazon and companies alike should be looking forward to building Universal apps for Windows 10 to serve both PC and smartphone users; however, nothing can be said regarding the company's plans as of now.
