Microsoft has been among some of the biggest names when it comes to the world of technology over the years. The company has brought forward several changes in the markets of technology as we know them to be, and they are now looking forward to take things to the next level. The company has been dominating the markets of software and OS technology for a very long time now, and the plan now is to take the markets of hardware technology to the next level. Microsoft now intends to innovate their smartphone devices – and in an attempt to do so, they have now released the Windows 10 Mobile OS update for the users of their older Nokia Lumia devices too.
The update, which was promised to reach these older devices back in the December of 2015 has come out in the March of 2016, but better late than never, the update has indeed been meeting most expectations.
The Windows 10 Mobile OS update came out for the users of many older Nokia Lumia phones such as Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, and the MCJ Madosma Q501 devices.
There has been quite a controversy over this selective release as the users of other popular devices such as the Lumia 520, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1320 are upset that their devices have not received this update. Microsoft has explained why this selective release was made in their blog, saying:
"This list includes a limited set of Windows Phone 8.1 devices and does not include some devices that are currently running Windows 10 Mobile in the Windows 10 Mobile Insider program. As Windows 10 delivers significant new innovations, many older devices are not able to successfully upgrade without an impact on the customer experience. Our goal is to only offer the Windows 10 upgrade to devices that we are confident can continue to deliver a good customer experience," the company said.
