#WindowsPhone #eBay – eBay Abandons Windows Phone Too, Pulls App from the Store : Windows Phone's struggle continues, this time with another company that's leaving the platform all of a sudden, most likely because of the declining market share.
eBay has announced in the description posted in the Windows Store for its own app that the official client is being removed, and users are now recommended to turn to the website in order to continue accessing the service.
"Starting September 30, the eBay app for Windows will no longer be available. You can still shop on eBay by visiting us at eBay.com from your browser," the notification that's now displayed to users reads.
No sign of Windows 10 Mobile app
In most of the cases, when one company decides to remove its Windows Phone app, users in the community hope that a universal app would be coming as a replacement with support for both Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 devices. This time, however, there's no sign that this is indeed the plan, and nobody can tell for sure that eBay is looking to remain on Windows 10 with a universal app.
The removal of the official eBay app is similar to the departure of other important names from Windows Phone, including Amazon and PayPal – Amazon has actually returned to the Windows Store with a web wrapper that makes absolutely no sense.
But every time, developers announced the removal of their Windows Phone apps and recommended users to turn to their browsers in order to continue accessing their services, and this is exactly what eBay is doing this time as well.
Unfortunately, things are evolving from bad to worse for Windows Phone and Microsoft doesn't seem to be eager to stop this. The firm remains tight-lipped on everything Windows Phone and rumor has it that the end of the Lumia brand is also approaching. The whole secrecy that Microsoft seems to be loving so much these days is clearly hurting the platform, as devs and users are one by one switching to Android or iOS. source:softpedia
