Windows Phone has lost another major appWindows Phone has been hit by another big setback after one of the world's most popular music services revealed it is dropping its app.
Microsoft's struggling mobile platform has had to endure months of declining market share in recent months as Android and iOS dominate.
Despite the company pledging its support to Windows Phone with the rollout of Windows 10 Mobile, it seems app developers aren't quite so keen to agree, with one of the biggest entertainment services now pulling its service.

That's because Spotify has now said it is ending development on its app for Windows Phone.
The company, which streams millions of tracks through its eponymous app, said that the Spotify app for Windows Phone "has been placed into maintenance mode".
The app will no longer be updated with new features or improvements, Spotify said, although the service will still continue in its current form.
Spotify currently boasts around 100 million monthly active users across its mobile and desktop apps.

Spotify has around 100 million active monthly usersIn a post on its support site, Spotify confirmed that, "we will only be making critical security updates to the current Spotify app and not releasing any new features nor improving support for old devices going forward."
"Users can continue to use Spotify on previously supported Windows Phones and Spotify will remain on the Windows Store."
Spotify added that the company will, "continue to work closely with Microsoft to ensure the best experience on Windows platforms and are constantly evaluating the most effective path going forward."
The news will comes as a blow to Microsoft, which is currently working on the rollout of the Windows 10 Creators Update for mobile devices.
The company does not reveal exactly how many Windows 10 Mobile devices it ships each year.
However, during its latest earnings call, it noted that the revenue group entitled "More Personal Computing" had dropped some five per cent year over year due to "lower phone revenue".
Windows Phone has seen a steady decline in users over the last year.
The operating system dropped from a 1.2 per cent market share at the end of 2015, to a new low of 0.3 per cent by the end of Microsoft's third financial quarter in 2016.
