Documents published by Microsoft for Q3 reveal that Windows Phone is no longer listed as a platform receiving investments.
We all know that Redmond-based Microsoft has given up all hopes on its Windows mobile phone devices. However, the company has never made an official statement, clarifying the same. Now, even though Microsoft hasn't provided an official statement, the quarter-earning report published by the company reveal that Windows phones is no longer listed as a platform receiving investments.
Spotted by DrWindowsPhone first, the mobile platform (in subject) will not be receiving any new improvements.
Separately, Microsoft is also rumored to complete the Windows Phone wind-down by June this year. "So it becomes clearer that Microsoft is trying to step away from mobile, at least in its current form," a Softpedia report read.
At the same time, the company appears to be working on a new project — its Windows 10 on ARM that it hopes will help them remain a player in the mobile business. The project, if successful, will allow users to power their laptops, PCs and even a new category of smartphones with the system.
