Several years have passed since LG launched a Windows Phone device. More exactly, in 2010 the company has released the LG Optimus 7. It looks like the new LG Lancet for Verizon Wireless has been released with Microsoft's mobile operating system.
This device comes with a 4.5-inch display, a quad-core processor and 8-megapixel camera. Moreover, LG Lancet is available at the price of 20 dollars with a contract and 120 dollars without. This phone is perfect for Windows Phone users or for persons who are looking for a budget phone.
Even if the Windows Phone doesn't have a high number of users, compared with Google and Apple, and it has a smaller app store, this is a good phone that can be considered. To be mentioned that Microsoft has declared in May that they will rebrand Windows Phone to Windows 10 Mobile and it will be lunched at the end of July.
However, many brands, including LG, have invested a lot in the OS. To be remembered that Windows phones belong to Nokia's Lumia series. Well, it looks like LG Lancet has some tough competitors, especially the family of Windows veterans. Microsoft Lumia 735, for example, is one of the most appreciated Windows phones at the moment.
Returning to LG Lancet, this device is small and compact, which allows comfortable hold in hand, without feeling too heavy. Users will find on the left edge a thin volume rocker, on the right is a sleep/power button, while on the top there is located a 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, on the bottom it houses the Micro-USB port for charging. On the back owners can find the main camera that is accompanied by a flash to the right. It is worth mentioning that the handset's screen is quite responsive and has a wide viewing angle.
As it was mentioned, LG Lancet comes with Microsoft's mobile operating system, Windows Phone 8.1.1. As Microsoft used us, the screen is filled with animated live tiles in varying sizes. To be mentioned that LG Lancet also comes with the digital voice and search assistant Cortana. This feature will help users to look up businesses, schedule appointments and much more.
