A few years ago, we would have laughed if people said that Microsoft will be working on a Microsoft Surface Phone but now, we think that it could possibly happen.
The Surface Phone's primary task is to change the perceptions as Microsoft has been losing out in that aspect, and that aspect only!
Now there are reports that Surface Phone's launch has been deferred to the year 2017 while the tablet and laptop will be coming out this year as originally anticipated. Additionally, Microsoft is also giving away a free Surface Dock when you purchase a Surface Book or Surface Pro 4, which is also quite nice.
"If you wanted to reach a lot of phone customers, Windows Phone isn't the way to do it. If you want to reach a lot of Windows customers, then this is the largest install base of 9 to 30-inch screens".
"We're going to do some cool things with phones, but this year phones are an important part of our family but not the tip of the spear", he added. Microsoft, with t he arrival of the Surface Phone is now looking towards tapping into the markets of the business class users, and occupy a market space blackberry once did.
Reports indicate that only recently, Microsoft offered a two-day discounts on sale of Surface Pro 4.
Insiders can take advantage of this deal now over at the French Microsoft Store. "The Surface Phone was expected to help give them a boost in the markets".
The report goes on to state that the Surface Phones will not be released till sometime in 2017. Even though a prototype is now under testing in Surface' labs in Redmond, there have so far been no indications on how the phone will look like.
