Microsoft’s Older Nokia Lumia Windows Phone Devices Get Windows 10 Mobile OS Update

Microsoft has been a name which has been in the markets of technology for over the past 40 years, and has been bringing forward a large number of changes in the way we know the markets to be. The company has been among some of the biggest innovators in the business, and has been a dominating player in the Software and OS markets. The company has now been moving towards the hardware business too, and the Windows Phone devices, however, have been performing rather poorly in the markets. In order to get some confidence back in the users about their devices, a major OS update has been brought forward, as Microsoft has released the Windows 10 Mobile OS Update.

Windows-10-Mobile-Lumia

The Windows 10 Mobile OS was earlier limited to the users of the Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, Lumia 550 and Lumia 650, but starting march, the update has been released for a much larger number of devices, as millions of older Nokia Lumia Windows Phone devices, which were running the Windows 10 Mobile OS, have now started receiving the update.

The Windows 10 Mobile OS update came out for the users of many older Nokia Lumia phones such as Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, and the MCJ Madosma Q501 devices.

There has been quite a controversy over this selective release as the users of other popular devices such as the Lumia 520, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1320 are upset that their devices have not received this update. Microsoft has explained why this selective release was made in their blog, saying:

"This list includes a limited set of Windows Phone 8.1 devices and does not include some devices that are currently running Windows 10 Mobile in the Windows 10 Mobile Insider program. As Windows 10 delivers significant new innovations, many older devices are not able to successfully upgrade without an impact on the customer experience. Our goal is to only offer the Windows 10 upgrade to devices that we are confident can continue to deliver a good customer experience," the company said.
