Samsung is expected to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8 in a couple of months. While we don't have any official confirmation or any other info about the device, we have a ton of rumors which points to a very promising smartphone overall with a bunch of new features. After the Note 7's recall, this is a huge launch of the company as it is their only chance to attract the attention of the angry/disappointed customers. With that said, if the Galaxy S8 is going to be anything like what the rumors are pointing, then it could be one of the best smartphones of this year.
Talking about the rumors, we have a new report now which claims that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a feature very similar to the Microsoft Continuum. A leaked slideshow which is reported to have originated from the Galaxy S8 presentation showcases something called the Samsung Desktop Experience. According to it, it looks like you can connect your smartphone (expected to be the Galaxy S8 in this case) to an external monitor, a wireless mouse, and a keyboard as well in order to use it just like full-fledged PC. This will allow for better multi-tasking since having a larger display always works as an advantage.
While this is a great feature to have, it is nothing that we haven't seen before. Microsoft also came up with something very similar with the Lumia smartphones called the Continuum feature. With the help of that feature, users can use a dock and connect their smartphone to an external monitor and take advantage of the larger screen for better multitasking. Do make a note that we don't have any info as to how Samsung is planning to implement it and make it happen. All we know as of now is that the company is planning to launch this feature and it will most likely work other devices as well. However, as mentioned earlier, we don't have any confirmation on the same.
On the other hand, if Samsung is planning to launch this feature, we hope that they have redesigned the UI as well so that the interface allows users to take advantage of the larger display. Afterall, that is why the feature is being implemented in the first place. Well, now we just have to wait and see what we get here from the South Korean Giant. As far as the Galaxy S8 is concerned, it is indeed shaping up to be one of the best smartphones to be ever launched by the company with an array of new features and functionalities. To know more about them and new rumors, be sure to stay tuned to PhoneRadar for details on the same as we will update once we have more info.Note – The Featured image displayed above shows the Microsoft Continuum feature.
