In the past, the Windows 10 Mobile OS was available only to the new-gen Windows Phone devices such as the Lumia 650, Lumia 550, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.
The AT&T Lumia 1520 is now able to grab the official Windows 10 Mobile update. Apparently, the wait is over, as AT&T has started pushing the update today (via Neowin).
Effective June 23, 2016, Microsoft and AT&T released a new Windows 10 update for the Nokia Lumia 1520. To download the update, you must download and install the Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor app from the Windows app store. The update will be available for download via Firmware Over The Air (FOTA). Verizon suggests that once you have received notification that the update has arrived on your phone, make sure that the handset is either connected to a Wi-Fi network, or has a strong Verizon cellular signal.
Built-in Applications - photos, maps, messaging, music, video and more.
As always, your first step in upgrading your Lumia 1520 to Windows 10 Mobile is to install the Upgrade Advisor app and run it. "Our goal is to only offer the Windows 10 upgrade to devices that we are confident can continue to deliver a good customer experience", the company said. As Verizon notes, you're basically on your own if you do upgrade, and will need to go to Microsoft for support.
There was pretty much no reason for not releasing Windows 10 Mobile to the Lumia Icon since it's almost identical to the Lumia 930, one of the devices that received both the upgrade to the stable version and preview builds.
